Supporting increased participation in Quality Early Childhood Education and increased successful transition to Schools by:

  • Providing access to high quality ECE teaching resources - to enhance ECE organisations and teaching capability.
  • Supporting the Kohanga Reo within the Tararua District to deliver high quality ECE programmes and supporting the ECE sector with implementation of Ka Hikitia.
  • Delivering practical workshops which have direct links to Te Whariki to rural playgroups across the Tararua District.
  • Leading and facilitating the Tararua ECE and New Entrant Teachers Forum focusing on professional development and sector collaboration. Providing professional development opportunities to the ECE sector that might not otherwise be possible in smaller rural communities.
  • Supporting Tararua REAP in taking an active role in the Dannevirke Schools Community of Learning, including the ECE Coordinator being a standing member of the COL Management Team.
  • Providing key support to all ECE/school transition initiatives in the Tararua area.
