The Blind Foundation is New Zealand’s main provider of practical and emotional support for the 12,100 Kiwis who are blind or have low vision, enabling them to face the future with confidence. We equip people with the skills to participate fully in society. This includes support in living independently, getting around, using technology, continuing to read and communicate, being socially active and staying in or looking for work.
Administer and coordinate the Strengthening Families process for whanau/families working with multiple agencies and/or organisations in the Tararua District. Provide support for Strengthening Families Lead Agencies. Administer the Tararua Strengthening Families Network and coordinate the monthly Forum Mettings. Provision & coordination of community based education, foundations skills & pathways into other learning opportunities that meet community learning needs for youth adults and whanau. Providing workshops and seminars in Northern Tararua that support improving skills for participating in industry, progressing career paths, further learning and/or employment and improving skills for Maori and Pasifika learners.
